Discover 29 Latest Game Cards from Magic: The Gathering's TMNT Expansion (Featuring a Commander-Style Deck!)

The world's beloved pizza-eating heroes are coming to Magic: The Gathering. The well-known TCG's publisher, the game's creators, announced a highly anticipated Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles collaboration during a special event held at NYCC. Is this a radical new set or simply another crossover marketing move? Let you decide.

Check out here at all the details announced from the Magic x Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles collaboration, including key context. All items listed below releases on March 6, 2026, with one exception — the Pizza Bundle arrives a few weeks later on March 27th.

MTG x TMNT: Core Set Reveals

Before we get into all the various unique products and bundles on offer, we’ll examine at all the cards from the main Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles set that were revealed by the developers. Play boosters for the expansion are set at $6.99 each, while premium boosters should run $37.99 per booster.

Let’s explore a couple of surprising details. To begin, there's a new mechanic called Sneak Attack, inspired by the pre-existing Ninjutsu, where gamers can cheat big creatures into the game field when an attacking creature goes unblocked. The key change here is that Sneak can apply to non-creature spells as well. Wizards also used this chance to refine the ability a bit (Sneak counts as playing a spell, as opposed to Ninjutsu). Ninjutsu isn't going away, but chances are we'll see the new mechanic in future sets moving forward.

Should we were to return to Kamigawa, it’s possible we’d use the original ability since that's where it originated and it is iconic to that,” an experienced game designer explained. “But on other planes, because the rules are cleaner and Sneak will be Standard-legal, it’s probable we’ll use Sneak.”

Another version of Leonardo, Sewer Samurai card, is among four cards with special art created specifically for the expansion by Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles co-creator the co-creator.

Additionally, if you're shocked by the rules text on Turtles Forever card, which lets you play cards that aren't in your deck, so was I. Yet as per the developers, that's now a official card in every format of Magic.

Anyway, here are the highly unusual land cards with full art from the TMNT set:

As per the company’s existing guidelines, all these cards are all legal in Magic’s Standard play. The designers state they were careful to make sure the new cards and gameplay elements meshed well with other Standard sets such as Edge of Eternities.

“I headed the development for 15 months and we were aware it would be Standard-legal and what other sets would be near it in standard,” a lead designer says. “Our goal was to make sure that they work well with some of those sets including Edge of Eternities.”

For example, each of TMNT and Edge of Eternities feature a blue-red archetype built around artifacts.

“They mesh together to provide the components for a enjoyable Standard deck,” the designer says.

Commander Deck: Turtle Power!

After declining to design any pre-constructed Commander decks for Spider-Man and the upcoming Avatar: The Last Airbender collaborations, Wizards is reversing course with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. It’s only a single precon, but it does come with six different legendary cards who could work as your Commander based on how you pair them (five of the cards have a special Partner mechanic named “Character Select” that lets you start with two commanders in the command area instead of just one). Take a look for yourself:

The Turtle Power precon is priced at $69.99, although the price may rise due to demand. Wizards told that it includes 43 new cards altogether, which translates to an additional thirty-seven TMNT-themed game cards in addition to the six legendary commanders shown above. (Calculating roughly, that also means about 20 reprints if we assume the deck comes with 37 lands.)

How will the Turtles version of Sol Ring look like? Fans must wait and see.

Standard Bundle (Standard Edition)

Typically, the company is offering a bundle. It is priced at $69.99 and contains the listed items:

  • 9 Standard Boosters
  • Fifteen Foil land cards
  • 15 Regular land cards
  • 2 helper cards
  • One Foil promotional card
  • One Oversized life tracker
  • One storage box

Pizza-Themed Bundle

Here’s a special idea for the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles set, mostly in that it is packaged in what looks like a pizza delivery box. Each pizza-themed bundle costs $99.99 and comes with the following:

  • 9 Play Boosters
  • One Premium Booster
  • Twenty-five Regular pizza-themed lands
  • Five Traditional foil pizza-themed lands
  • 2 Traditional foil pizza bundle promo cards
  • 2 helper cards
  • 1 Large spindown life counter
  • 1 storage box

For those curious about the “Pizza Bundle promo card” means, it’s basically a reprinted older card featuring brand-new Turtle-themed artwork. The team showed one for the well-known Magic card Dark Ritual featuring art of master Splinter sprinkling toppings on a pizza. There are six distinct pizza promos available.

This special bundle releases a couple of weeks later than the main set on March 27, 2026.

Draft Bundle

This unique product is made for a four-person draft and is priced at $119.99. That will get you:

  • Twelve Play Boosters (the perfect amount four people to play draft)
  • 1 Collector Booster (aka, the prize for winning)
  • 90 Non-foil land cards (to build your deck)
  • 10 Non-foil token cards
  • 1 drafting guide (a single-page instruction sheet to drafting the set)

Turtle Team-Up

Finally, the developers are introducing a new concept with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles as in line with its ongoing effort to develop Magic products specifically for new players. In this case, the cooperative set is a special set of decks that allow two players join forces to face a “Boss” enemy deck that pilots itself.

The concept here that every Boss card grants unique powers to the creatures included in the boss deck. The Boss automatically casts an additional card each turn, and you’ll start off battling {one Boss|
